There is no single document checklist that safely covers every Vanuatu citizenship category. DSP, VCP, CIIP, REO, naturalisation, marriage, entitlement and regain routes have different legal bases and forms.
For an investment or contribution application, the first step is therefore to identify the exact programme and family composition. A competent preliminary review should identify obvious eligibility problems before the applicant pays for extensive certifications or translations.
The Citizenship Office publishes application forms, programme notices and application guidance, while the exact evidence required can also be influenced by an applicant's nationality, residence history, family circumstances and due-diligence profile.
Current passports, birth records, national identity documents where applicable, photographs and evidence explaining any name differences.
Marriage, divorce, death, adoption or custody records as relevant to the principal applicant and family members.
Reliable residential history and evidence where requested, especially where it links to police-clearance or tax-residence questions.
Police certificates and full disclosure of criminal, regulatory, immigration or other adverse matters when required.
Evidence explaining wealth and the source of the funds used for the programme, with a traceable connection to banked funds.
Documents proving spouse, child or dependant status and any current age, education or dependency condition that applies.
Complex does not necessarily mean impossible, but it does mean the issue should be identified early and addressed honestly. Examples include:
Source of wealth explains how an applicant accumulated their overall financial position—for example a business sale, salary and savings, investment portfolio, inheritance or long-term enterprise ownership.
Source of funds follows the particular money being used for the citizenship transaction. A strong file should show a coherent trail from the legitimate origin of funds to the account from which the authorised programme payment is made.
This is one reason to prepare early. Trying to reconstruct years of corporate, banking or sale records after a due-diligence question is raised can create avoidable delay.
Names, dates, places of birth, marital status and passport details should agree across the file. Explain discrepancies instead of hoping they are overlooked.
Use the certification, notarisation, legalisation or translation standard requested for the relevant document. Do not assume a photocopy is sufficient.
Some documents, particularly police or financial evidence, may need to be recent. Prepare them in the correct sequence so they do not expire unnecessarily.
Where a document is not in an accepted language, use an appropriate translation and keep the original and translated document linked clearly.
